In a fast paced environment, the Tax Processing and Accounting Division 's (TPAD) Tax Administrator III functions as the Program Manager of the Post Processing Operations Program (PPO). The PPO Program Manager is responsible for providing high level expertise for the activities of the Electronic Data Integrity Section (EDIS); Contribution Adjustment Section (CAS); and the Tax and Wage Adjustment Section (TWAS). The responsibilities include planning, organizing, and directing PPO activities through subordinate TA IIs and TA Is.
This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to facilitate discussions and technical changes with with internal and external customers including other state agencies, banks, software vendors, tax practitioners, and employers.
The PPO Program Manager must possess strong knowledge of the tax program, employer payroll tax reporting responsibilities, tax liabilities, and employer account and wage adjustments. In addition, they must possess a solid knowledge of the provisions of the California Unemployment Insurance Code, Departmental regulations, rules, and policies of the employer tax accounting system relating to the four programs administered by the Department Unemployment Insurance, Disability Insurance, Personal Income Tax, and the Employment Training Fund programs.
This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.

Background Investigation Requirement
