Job Summary
The Vice President of Strategy and University Affairs is a pivotal executive leader responsible for aligning Albany State University's long-term strategic vision with operational execution. This role serves as a central integrator, enabling the President's Office to operate with agility, accountability, and data-informed decision-making.
As a key member of the executive team, the Vice President of Strategy and University Affairs will lead data-driven strategic initiatives and oversee critical functions, including Presidential Operations, University Events, Project Management Office, Institutional Research and Effectiveness, Title III administration, and Presidential Office Administration. By grounding institutional planning in robust data and rigorous analysis, this leader will coordinate cross-functional initiatives that advance the university's highest priorities and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

The influence of the Vice President of Strategy and University Affairs extends across the university's most critical functions. This role demands a leader capable of integrating disparate operations¿from high-level strategic planning and federal compliance to presidential programming and institutional effectiveness¿into a cohesive and effective whole. Success requires navigating complex internal and external landscapes to ensure all efforts are aligned with the institutional mission.

Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications :
A master's degree in higher education, public administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in higher education administration, strategic planning, or a closely related field.
Proven expertise in designing, building, and executing complex projects and strategic initiatives from concept to completion, driving alignment and engagement across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to travel frequently within the scope of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications :
An earned doctorate or other terminal degree, preferably in counseling, student personnel, higher education administration, or a related field.
Experience using data-driven evidence and proven practices to analyze problems / issues and identify solutions.
Expertise in managing budgets, personnel, and complex organizational structures within a higher education setting.
Proposed Salary
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
