Sr. Project Engineer, Transportation

Overview

GFT is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer, Transportation to join our Practice or CBG Team in Chicago, IL . This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Chicago office.

GFTs Transportation team offers the opportunity to engage in transformative projects that enhance transportation infrastructure and improve community connectivity, including highways, bridges, traffic engineering, and multimodal roadway systems.

What Youll Be Challenged To Do

• Join our roadway group as a Project Engineer on Phase I and Phase II projects for state, aviation, municipal, and private sector clients. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on roadway, transit, and aviation projects.
• Assist in preliminary engineering and development of detailed plans and specifications; may work closely with other teams on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Manage other engineers and technicians to complete tasks as directed by the team leader and project manager; may assume responsibilities as project manager or deputy project manager depending on experience.
• Analyze information and data to perform routine design tasks; ensure accuracy of engineering design and plans, quality presentation, thoroughness and conformance to budgets and schedules.
• Make decisions independently on engineering problems and represent the organization in meetings when needed.
• Keep the Project Manager informed of workload, schedule changes, and scope changes; maintain professional and technical knowledge through ongoing education and professional engagement.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $156,000 , dependent upon experience and geographic location.
