Experienced Journeyman & Apprentice Electricians Needed for Lighting Retrofit Project - Birmingham, AL
United Trades of America is seeking skilled Journeyman and 3rd-Year Apprentice Electricians for a lighting retrofit project in Birmingham, AL . This role requires individuals who are detail-oriented, experienced in commercial electrical work, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities :
- Perform lighting retrofits , including removal and installation of LED and energy-efficient lighting in commercial and industrial buildings.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade existing electrical systems to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety regulations.
- Work safely on ladders, lifts, and scaffolding while installing overhead lighting systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams to accurately execute lighting retrofits.
- Use hand tools and electrical testing equipment to diagnose and resolve lighting and power issues.
- Work with conduit bending, wiring, and various electrical components.
- Operate a bucket truck and other specialized equipment as needed.
- Ensure all work follows the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA standards, and company safety protocols .
- Collaborate with team members and site supervisors to maintain project timelines and efficiency.
Requirements :
Journeyman Electricians must hold a valid Alabama Journeyman Electrical License .3rd-Year Apprentice Electricians should have relevant field experience.Must have previous experience with lighting retrofits and commercial electrical work .Must possess basic hand tools, PPE (hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, work boots, etc.), and reliable transportation .Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as required.Must be willing to travel for projects as needed.Compensation & Application Process :
