Director Of Cardiac Imaging And Rehab
The Director of Cardiac Imaging and Rehab leads daily operations, staffing, compliance, and strategic oversight across multiple departments including Clinical Echo, Fetal Echo, Research Imaging, Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing (CPET), and Cardiac Rehab (CR). This role ensures high-quality imaging and testing services while maintaining alignment with accreditation standards and institutional policies. The Director is responsible for managing departmental budgets and programs, coordinating accreditation readiness, and overseeing safety protocols and quality assurance. They contribute to organizational planning, evaluate and implement new testing procedures and equipment, and stay current with industry standards through ongoing professional development. The position also requires maintaining active certifications and licenses, coordinating equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with all required training and regulatory standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Management - Propose, research, and manage the development, implementation and assessment of long and short term operating goals and objectives. Operationalize, implement and monitor assigned strategic initiatives. Drive execution of the assigned strategic plan components.
- Performance Development - Direct the development and monitoring of an effective staffing and retention strategy, including hiring and terminating employees, workforce planning, succession planning; attracting and retaining top performers, partnering with leadership and Human Resources to develop effective and appropriate recruitment packages, and effective on-boarding programs for staff; effective performance management of direct reports; in partnership with leadership, provide mentoring and development to faculty and other leaders in effective performance management; mentor and provide learning and development opportunities for direct reports and others in business roles; effectively and appropriately leveraging human resources business partners to meet the division's talent management goals; ultimate responsibility for supporting organizational programs / plans that impact employees and ensuring communication, comprehension, and adherence to all Human Resources policies and related legal and / or compliance requirements.
- Department Management - Develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures that guide and support departmental operations and services. Interact with business and operational leaders of client divisions to identify upcoming changes to operations.
- Operations - Direct, establish and monitor processes to ensure effective and efficient operations; design and monitor effective patient flow to maximize efficiency; collaborate with interdisciplinary directors and medical staff to plan, implement and evaluate services; develop and implement policies and procedures for improved utilization and operations; identify opportunities for improving cost through in-depth analysis and offer recommendations to drive significant operational change; resolve issues directly, or in consultation with leadership concerning staffing, utilization of facilities, equipment and funds; ensure that all policies and procedures are in conformance with Medical Center guidelines.
- Compliance - Sustain a working understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Evaluate areas of responsibility for compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Identify best practices as well as deficiencies to share with peers and make recommendations for improvement. Participate in the development of corrective action plans to guide needed and sustainable improvements. Ensure the compliance and readiness plans are current. Track laws, regulations and standards that may affect practice and policies. Work with direct reports to ensure that needed changes are made.
