Schedule :
First shift, full-time hours. Specific work hours will be established in consultation with your supervisor.
Hourly Wage :
$16.50 / hr. to start - $17.50 / hr. after 90 Days

Job Summary :
At Life-NWPA, our Medical Records Coordinators perform duties relating to establishing and maintaining all medical records for the day health center with little supervision.
Duties / Responsibilities :
Establishes and maintains medical records for each Participant.
Filing and requesting medical records from outside sources.
Assists with coordinating transportation arrangements for scheduled appointments.
Utilizes word processing skills to prepare correspondence and reports from rough drafts and verbal instruction.
Maintains and enters all data on participants for program reporting and evaluation.
Attends required meetings.
Provides clerical support for Center staff.
Participate in and support Quality Improvement initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities :
Medical records transcription skills, word processing, and data entry.
Relates well with people of all ages but has a deep sensitivity and commitment to the elderly.
Ability to organize work and follow through on assigned tasks.
Ability to address / manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to prioritize workload
Ability to manage time to accomplish required tasks
Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
Possession of valid Driver’s License and access to own vehicle
CPR and First Aid Certification.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of medical records, medical terminology, medical transcription, word processing, and data entry experience preferred.
Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
Education and Experience :
Completion of High School or equivalent.
Medical record or coding education preferred
One Year experience in medical records management, or coding preferred
One year of experience working with the frail and elderly population or willing to participate in extensive training as needed.
Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
Requirements :
Requires valid State driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Successful completion of background check, physical, drug screening, TB Screening.
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support staff / agencies.
Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.
Must be able to lift residents, medical equipment, supplies, etc.
CPR and First Aid Certification.
Must be able to drive a motor vehicle.
