R3 Heating & Air is the growing mechanical division of R3 Roofing & Exteriors, a family-owned company rooted in the values of Loyalty, Accountability, and Community. We're expanding quickly across the Des Moines area and looking for experienced HVAC professionals who take pride in quality work, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.

We are hiring a skilled and experienced HVAC Install Lead to oversee residential and / or commercial HVAC installation projects. This role is both hands-on and leadership-focusedrequiring you to lead crews, ensure code-compliant installs, mentor junior techs, and deliver excellent service on every job. The ideal candidate is an efficient installer and a confident on-site leader.

Key Responsibilities :

• Installation & Troubleshooting : Install HVAC systems including furnaces, A / C units, heat pumps, ductwork, thermostats, etc. Resolve installation issues and ensure all work complies with safety codes and manufacturer specs.
• Crew Leadership : Supervise and mentor install crew members and apprentices. Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites and vehicles. Delegate daily responsibilities and monitor crew productivity.
• Project Coordination : Review job packets, blueprints, and scope of work before project start. Coordinate schedules and materials with the Install or Project Manager. Communicate job changes or delays proactively.
• Material & Equipment Management : Ensure required tools, equipment, and materials are on-site and ready. Track inventory usage and prevent unnecessary waste. Handle system start-up and performance testing post-install.
• Quality Control : Perform QA checks and ensure systems meet company standards. Test system performance and ensure full documentation, including required job photos.
• Customer Interaction : Act as the on-site representative of R3 Heating & Air. Communicate job progress or concerns professionally and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Reporting & Documentation : Complete job close-out procedures in CRM software. Report hours, issues, and daily updates to the Install Manager. Coordinate with dispatch to ensure efficient scheduling.
• Team Development : Participate in team meetings and training to stay up to date on equipment, standards, and best practices.
