American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications and a NM or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a high-volume Labor & Delivery unit within a Level I Trauma, Children's, and Teaching HospitalPatient ratio is 1 : 2 in a large L&D settingFloat required to antepartum and postpartum units as neededOn-call requirement : 12-24 hours per 4 week period depending on shift patternOptions for 36 or 48 hour contracts with night shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30Special procedures include cerclage, version, C-section, PPTL, external and internal monitoring, AROM, meconium deliveries, C-hyst, neonatal palliative care, nitrous administration, massive transfusion protocol, and malignant hyperthermia managementUses Cerner EMRPurple scrubs are providedResponsible for managing labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care for maternal and neonatal populationsRequired to float to antepartum and postpartum units to meet facility needsFirst-time travelers are accepted for this positionTravelers may work up to 12 consecutive months before a break is requiredPerm employees may return as travelers if separated for 12 or more monthsMust be fully compliant, ready to work, and able to complete all onboarding requirements promptlyHoliday scheduling is determined by facility policy; no guaranteed weekends offParking is free on-site\n \n Requirements\n
Active NM or compact RN license (may be pending at time of consideration)BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required (NRP must be in hand before start)Minimum 1 year of L&D experience in a large unit or facilityFetal heart monitoring and circulating experience requiredExperience with postpartum, baby nurse, and meconium deliveries requiredCOVID vaccination required, with medical and religious exemptions accepted with proper documentationRTO requests over 7 days must be approved; no RTO first or last contract week or during major holidaysNo local candidates within 75 miles of the facilityDriver’s License required for compliance\n Benefits\n
