Job Overview
The Buyer will be responsible for ensuring that the Wind Creek Hospitality obtains the highest quality products at competitive market prices. This position works closely with the purchasing manager and purchasing director on companywide procurement initiatives and competitive sourcing agreements. He / she also works closely with the department heads to control costs and maintain a sound purchasing system.

Duties and Responsibilities :
- Performs purchasing functions to secure the highest quality products and services at the most competitive prices
- Creates purchase orders for all products, including hotel, food, beverage, information technology, marketing and casino supplies
- Evaluates and selects vendors, along with the department heads
- Maintains procurement records and system inventory; Assists with period end physical inventory counts
- Expedites delivery of goods, items and services
- Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts with assistance of the purchasing manager and purchasing director
- Performs functions in Stratton Warren, the company's purchasing system, including maintaining the item master, creating purchase orders and placing orders with various vendors
- Contacts suppliers to place orders; Ensures the quality, quantity and timeliness of delivery requirements are met
- Gathers information for qualification of vendors and establishment of credit / accounts
- Conducts purchasing procedures which conform to Wind Creek Hospitality and the Poarch Band of Creek Indians standards
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within 6 months from start date as a condition of continued employmentBachelor's Degree in Business or related field- preferredTwo (2) years extensive buying experience in a multiple outlet / multiple property hospitality operation required, preferably in a casino environment- requiredExperience with Stratton Warren purchasing systems- preferredStrong project management skills, ability to handle multiple projects concurrentlyAbility to forecast requirements and plan for and meet operation needs as the situation arisesAble to work independently and as a part of a teamWilling to travel and participate in training as recommended or requiredWilling and able to work odd or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidaysMust have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this positionMust have willingness and ability to work in a smoke / secondary smoke environmentNATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN PREFERENCE IN HIRING POLICY SHALL BE ADHERED TO AT ALL TIMES
