Behavioral Health Aide Patient Care Technician
Position Summary
Euola is seeking multiple Behavioral Health Aide Patient Care Technicians to provide essential care and technical support services within the Bonham Domiciliary Inpatient areas of the VA North Texas Health Care System. These positions play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the facility and ensuring continuous, 24 / 7 supervision and therapeutic engagement for patients in the recovery process.
Responsibilities
- Provide essential day-to-day care and support services within the Domiciliary on a 24 / 7 basis
- Listen to patients' concerns and observe behaviors during regular rounds
- Report changes in patient health or behavior promptly to medical and clinical staff
- Lead therapeutic and recreational activities for residents
- Assist with patient intake and discharge processes
- Monitor patients' behavior and whereabouts to maintain a safe environment
- Escort patients throughout the facility as needed
- Ensure structure, supervision, and therapeutic engagement throughout the recovery process
- Perform all duties in accordance with VA policies, procedures, and medical staff regulations
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.Two years of study at an accredited college, university, or junior college, including at least 12 semester hours in :Health sciences, nursing, behavioral science, social science, guidance, counseling, teaching, biological sciences, or related fields
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and / or ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certificationMinimum one (1) year of direct patient care in a rehabilitation treatment program settingExperience performing therapeutic and supportive tasks assisting physicians and healthcare personnelAbility to use computers and technology efficiently; proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing)Completion of all VA-mandated training (e.g., ethics, privacy, safety, infection control, annual competencies)Proof of current TB test, immunity / vaccination for MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza, and COVID-19 (or mask if contraindicated)All candidates must be able to :
