Job Title : Account Executive
Location : San Diego, CA
Position Overview :
A leading commercial flooring contractor in San Diego is seeking a results-driven Account Executive to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a background in project management or sales who wants to take ownership of client relationships, drive revenue growth, and manage projects from pre-construction through completion.
You’ll be based in the company’s San Diego headquarters, managing relationships with general contractors and end users across the county. This hybrid role combines sales and project management offering the chance to grow accounts while overseeing successful project execution.
Reporting to the VP of Sales, this role offers a competitive base salary plus commission and bonus.
Key Responsibilities :
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new client opportunities across general contractors and end users
- Maintain a strong presence at industry events and associations
Pre-Construction & Planning
Conduct job site visits to assess project scope, take measurements, and identify logistical challengesCreate detailed estimates for labor, materials, and preparation requirementsDevelop competitive project bids, including system recommendations (e.g., moisture mitigation) when applicableProject Management & Execution
Oversee projects from contract award to completion, managing schedules, budgets, and installation qualityCoordinate with in-house installation teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and executionConduct regular site visits to proactively resolve field issues and verify progressTrack and manage job costing, billing, and change orders throughout the project lifecycleIdentify risks and inefficiencies, implementing corrective actions and process improvementsRequired Skills & Qualifications :
5+ years of experience in commercial construction sales, estimating, or project management, preferably in the flooring industryStrong estimating, project planning, and organizational skillsAbility to read plans / specs and use digital take-off and estimating toolsExcellent communication and negotiation skills with both internal teams and external clientsWhat The Company Offers :
