Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shifts available : 3x12-Hour (06 : 45 - 19 : 15).

Job Description

Join a fast-paced Labor and Delivery unit that manages over 300 births per month. The team is dedicated to providing high-quality care for obstetrical patients, including high-risk antepartum and postpartum care. The unit includes an obstetrical triage area to conduct screenings and outpatient procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage labor and delivery cases, including high-risk patients.
  • Administer pain management and perform sterile vaginal exams.
  • Circulate for C-sections as needed.
  • Participate in obstetrical triage and outpatient procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain IVs, and perform phlebotomy as required.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Assist in orienting and precepting new staff members as needed.

    • Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in labor and delivery, preferably 3 years.
  • Experience with high-volume birthing units (>

    • 300 births / month) is essential.

  • Certifications required : BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate. C-EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN.
  • Skills required : Circulation for C-sections, sterile vaginal exams, and immediate newborn care.
