Certified Medical Assistant / Receptionist
St. Mary's Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health, Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant / Receptionist to join our Comprehensive Cardiology team! Shift : Full-time, days.
The Medical Assistant / Receptionist is responsible for assisting in the preparation, examination, and treatment of patients under the direction of the physician. Appropriately and professionally, assist physician and patients during the examination. Assist with front desk duties when necessary. The MA is responsible for maintaining the clinical inventories for the practice under the direction and guidance of the Office Manager / Coordinator / Leader and / or providers.
Responsibilities include : showing patients to exam room, interviewing patients, measuring vital signs (i.e. pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height) and documenting in Electronic Health Record. Taking any necessary labs, preparing for pick up and recording in the patient electronic health record, communicating with the appropriate departments on protocol for all labs and receiving all information they need for procedures. Answering telephone calls promptly and courteously and relaying all messages accurately. Following up on voice mail messages each morning and triaging messages before physician takes action, sending messages via telephone template in electronic health record. Assisting with Quality Metrics and Gaps in Care. Completing other duties as assigned by management or providers in a professional and timely fashion.
Requirements include : Medical Assistant Certification from AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, or NAHP (required), High School Diploma or equivalent (required), 1+ year of previous Medical Assistant experience in a Physician's office (preferred).
