2023 Vista Healthcare Strategy & Workforce Policy, DHHS DHHS Primary Care & Rural Health The Utah Department of Health and Human Services’ (DHHS) Office of Primary Care & Rural Health (PCRH) was established in 1991, and serves as Utah’s primary health resource for rural and underserved communities. In support of our mission “to collaborate with statewide partners to improve access to quality health care in rural and underserved communities.” PCRH recruits health care professionals, identifies sources of funding, and implements other projects related to decreasing disparity and increasing access to primary, oral, and behavioral health care services across the state. Our vision is “ to elevate the capacity of rural and underserved communities to deliver quality health care."Founded in 1965, Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) is an anti-poverty program designed to provide needed resources to nonprofit organizations and public agencies to increase their capacity to lift communities out of poverty.
AmeriCorps VISTA provides opportunities for Americans 18 years or older from a diverse range of backgrounds to dedicate a year of full-time service with an organization (“sponsor”) to create or expand programs designed to empower individuals and communities in overcoming poverty. AmeriCorps VISTA’s mission is “to improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic engagement through service and volunteering.”
Responsibilities
Work with PCRH colleagues and community partners to support the reach of PCRH’s health systems support programs. These programs contribute to the financial, operational, and quality improvement success of rural hospitals and clinics. Specifically, you will:

Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, , safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
This position is currently a hybrid of both in-office and remote work days. Please note, a position's eligibility for remote work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason.
