Now, it’s time to take the next step!The Cardinal Institute seeks a digital marketing associate to join its growing team to drive awareness around the Cardinal Institute and its mission of advancing liberty and prosperity for all West Virginians.
This is an opportunity to contribute to a statewide conversation on important issues such as tax and fiscal policy, education choice, energy, rural America's Issues, government ethics / transparency, and other policies consistent with a freer West Virginia.
The successful candidate will support Cardinal's Vice President of Communications & Strategy and will be instrumental in achieving Cardinal's ambitious communications goals for the upcoming year.
Preference will be given to candidates based in West Virginia or willing to relocate to Charleston, West Virginia. Working remotely is an option for exceptional candidates.
Potential travel 5-10% partially dependent on the candidate’s location. Qualities of a Successful Candidate : You are a self-starter.
You are someone who requires minimal supervision and learns quickly. You constantly seek your own professional development including those offered by our partners ( trainings, , etc.
You are humble. You have a teachable attitude and don’t get too frustrated when you don’t get things right the first time.
We work with complex policy issues. Any new team member will need time to work with our issues before they can effectively communicate them to our audience.
You are an excellent writer. This person should have an aptitude for writing in a way that takes complex policy topics and communicates them to everyday Americans.
Their writing should be able to compel regular people to understand how our policy areas affect their daily lives. You pay attention to detail.
You can’t help but notice when a menu misspells a food item, or your favorite author forgets a comma. Quality of output matters to you and you want to help others put their best foot forward too.
You love a small team environment. You enjoy working closely with others while also being able to do your own thing as needed.
You are energized by collaboration and making big ideas a reality. You’re willing to jump in, get messy, and do what it takes to ensure the team runs at its best.
Responsibilities of this Role :
- Collaborate with the VP of Comms to develop and execute a communications and marketing strategy for the Cardinal Institute including messaging, materials, digital strategy, and cross-platform promotions
- Monitor metrics for Google Ads / Analytics and Social Media
- Help execute Cardinal’s ambitious owned audience goals
- Ensure Cardinal’s digital presence aligns with brand guidelines
- Successfully write, design, and further grow Cardinal's popular weekly email newsletter and collaborate on the development of additional email products and strategies
- Partner closely with the VP of Comms in the development and execution of issue campaigns
- Use Canva to create graphics for social media and other use
