The Opportunity
The Engineering Manager-Product Development, Fertilizer Products & Systems is a skilled technical leader with the capacity to lead a team of engineers and technicians in the development & design of automated fertilizer blending systems from concept through manufacturing. This individual will assess the current offering of mechanical systems for both dry and liquid fertilizer products, leading the development of a best in-class standardized global platform offering to be utilized corporatewide.
Responsibilities
- Empathic leadership in the direction and development of the product engineering teams at multiple facility locations, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages open communication, professional growth, and collaboration across diverse groups.
- Ability to lead direct team members while collaborating with and influencing matrixed team members
- Strong collaboration with global engineering teams to leverage best practices and technical standardization
- Partner with the global functions of product management, marketing, sales, and technical experts in support of the technical requirements for the fertilizer product roadmap strategy development
- Partner with technical resources at multiple locations and product families to develop the best-in-class fertilizer systems to support in meeting market / customer requirements
- Refine designs and offerings to transition from a 'one off' custom process to a standardized Configure to Order (CTO) offering while developing and maintaining an Engineered to Order (ETO) process for strategic accounts
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Manufacturing Engineering5+ years of hands-on process machine design with drives, conveyors, and pumpsPrevious experience with bulk material handling both dry & liquid is a positiveMinimum of 2 years management experienceExperience with industrial automated machine design and development (examples : oil & gas, food & beverage, water / wastewater, chemical, bulk dry material handling, etc. Agricultural : Feed, Fertilizer, Grains are a plus)Strong mechanical aptitude and hands on capabilityMS Office platform proficient including Visio & ProjectCAD ProficientExperience with Atlassian Jira tools is a plusWorking knowledge in electrical schematic / controls as it pertains to machine developmentAbility to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 5-20% of the timeWith AGI, you're choosing an employer dedicated to strengthening and securing the global food supply chain.
