Job description

Lead Quality Engineer

Lead the quality assurance and quality control functions for GE Aerospace manufacturing processes. This role focuses on product quality review, oversees manufacturing operations, and ensures conformance with manufacturing standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ownership of quality assurance and quality control, including product, service, and manufacturing process quality.
  • In-depth technical knowledge to develop and execute quality policies and strategies.
  • Understand key business drivers and integrate team work with cross-functional processes.
  • Apply judgment to propose solutions, using experience and training to solve problems.
  • Serve as an individual contributor (or early people leader) who provides informal guidance and hires / develops talent.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (or high school diploma / GED plus a minimum of 4 years manufacturing experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years quality manufacturing experience.

    • Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Analytical problem-solving ability and documentation, planning, and execution of programs.
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, control plans, and process validation.
  • Knowledge of special processes (heat treat, coatings, NDT, welding, brazing).
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and aerospace blueprint interpretation.
  • Familiarity with inspection equipment and methods (CMM, vision systems, gauges).
  • Self-guided cross-functional problem solving and corrective action implementation.
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, and risk-based quality approaches.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
