Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing and Item Management Assistant to support our Purchasing, Inventory, and Item Manager. This role is vital to ensuring the efficient procurement and management of fitness equipment and related inventory. You’ll work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with internal teams and vendors to maintain accurate records and ensure timely delivery of products.

Duties

  • Assist in the purchasing process by preparing and submitting purchase orders to suppliers.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock to meet demand while avoiding overstock.
  • Collaborate with vendors to confirm order details, delivery timelines, and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate item records, including pricing, descriptions, and specifications in the company’s system.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Support in analyzing inventory trends and providing insights to improve purchasing decisions.
  • Assist in coordinating returns, exchanges, or warranty claims with vendors when necessary.
  • Communicate with internal teams, such as sales and operations, regarding inventory availability and updates.
  • Generate and distribute inventory and purchasing reports as required by management.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Purchasing, Inventory, and Item Manager.
  • Requirements

  • Education : High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
  • Experience : At least 1-2 years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, or administrative roles.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and team interactions.
  • Ability to understand and follow written instructions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with inventory management or ERP systems (e.g., Acumatica) is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
  • Interest in fitness and wellness is a bonus!
