Direct Counsel has partnered with a prestigious law firm that specializes in subrogation. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Civil Litigation Associate Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience handling a range of civil litigation matters from inception through trial, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled litigator to gain hands-on experience and grow within a collaborative and client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters independently and in collaboration with senior attorneys
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests / responses, and legal memoranda
- Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and depositions
- Develop case strategies and provide sound legal advice to clients
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses
- Participate in settlement negotiations and prepare trial materials
- Ensure compliance with court rules, deadlines, and internal procedures
- Maintain accurate and organized case files and billing records
Qualifications :
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law schoolActive bar membership in California or Michigan2+ years of civil litigation experience requiredStrong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and work independentlyCommitment to professionalism, ethics, and client servicePreferred Experience :
