Technical Project Manager (TPM) – SwitchBox Overview
At SwitchBox we are building the next generation of mobility and electrification systems including power electronics, vehicle integration, advanced controls, and autonomous technologies. The Technical Project Manager (TPM) is a key leadership role that connects engineering execution with program delivery.
The TPM leads cross functional projects across electrical, controls, mechanical, and systems engineering teams. This role blends technical understanding with structured project management to deliver complex engineering programs on schedule, within scope, and with high customer satisfaction.
You will collaborate directly with clients ranging from startups to Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs, as well as with internal stakeholders in engineering, operations, and business development. You will manage project scope, schedules, and deliverables while ensuring technical quality and alignment with SwitchBox standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams through planning, execution, and delivery of electrification, mobility, and autonomous system programs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project communication both internally and externally, ensuring clear alignment between client needs and engineering execution.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, resource forecasts, risk assessments, and financial tracking in coordination with Business Operations.
- Support proposal development and SOW creation by defining deliverables, milestones, and assumptions with technical leads.
- Identify and resolve cross functional dependencies, blockers, and technical issues across software, controls, electrical, and mechanical domains.
- Translate high level goals into actionable plans for engineers, providing structure while maintaining flexibility for innovation.
- Guide day to day project execution with a focus on schedule adherence, deliverable quality, and scope control.
- Partner with leadership to define and improve SwitchBox’s project management standards, tools, and best practices.
- Facilitate design reviews, risk reviews, and client update meetings.
- Monitor project profitability, change orders, and engineering effort allocation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across project planning, documentation, and communication workflows.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or related Engineering field (Master’s preferred).5 to 10 years of experience in engineering project management, systems integration, or technical leadership within the EV, automotive, or mobility sectors.Proven experience leading multidisciplinary technical projects involving embedded software, electronics, and mechanical systems.Solid understanding of product development lifecycles including requirements management, design validation, and production readiness.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced, client driven environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical documentation and customer presentations.Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Planner, or equivalent.Familiarity with systems engineering processes, DFMEA, validation planning, and industry standards related to electrification and autonomous systems.
