Position Summary

This position acts in a supporting role related to Quality Assurance compliance responsibilities, including internal audits, corrective action documentation initiation, tracking and customer visibility, defect data collection, trending, charting, and analysis.

Reporting Relationships

The Quality Engineer will report to the Quality Manager.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Knowledge of, and familiarity with, AS9100 Quality Management Systems requirements (preferably Rev D).
• Ensure that all defective parts and their associated defects are documented in accordance with established systems and procedures.
• Generation of internal and external customer non-conformance documentation.
• Prepare and determine root cause and corrective action analysis.
• Defect data collection, trending, charting, and analysis.
• Perform internal audits in compliance with established procedures and AS9100 requirements.
• Lead the development of PFMEAs and Control Plans.
• Interface with customer Quality Assurance program representatives regarding defect documentation and corrective action issues.
• Assist in the identification of the need for and generation of rework / repair planning.
• Assist in coordinating post-disposition repair activities related to customer disposition of submitted non-conformances.
• Assist with the Review and approval of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) as required. Ensure FAI adequacy, completeness, and compliance to AS9102.
• Actively support and interact with other members of the management team, including Manufacturing Operations, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Program Management, and N / C Programming.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.
