Summary
The role is responsible for ensuring the reliability and sustainability of new and existing equipment. You will lead process and product improvement efforts as a technical resource to the operations team, supporting manufacturing and maintenance through the MDI process and continuous improvement initiatives. This includes troubleshooting technical problems and managing various projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze equipment failure data to identify patterns and trends, applying engineering principles to develop countermeasures.
- Devise preventive maintenance strategies and spare parts lists.
- Conduct root cause analysis to maximize equipment uptime and throughput.
- Develop and implement new maintenance procedures and standard work for repair.
- Design and implement procedures for monitoring and testing equipment.
- Explore new technologies and processes to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate reliability into all aspects of the organization.
- Manage a variety of capital and non-capital projects as the Project Manager or Project Lead.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and manage day-to-day project activities.
- Improve equipment reliability and operation through data analysis and experimental evaluation.
- Implement plans to improve profitability by maximizing efficiency using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Manage the coordination, implementation, and standardization of manufacturing process improvements and tooling.
- Perform work measurement studies to meet pre-determined goals before handing off projects to manufacturing.
- Participate in continuous improvement teams and incorporate safety into all departmental activities.
- Research, justify, design, and implement new processes, tooling, and equipment.
- Conduct procurement activities, including obtaining and evaluating bids and making purchase recommendations.
- Design countermeasures and engineering trials, verifying the effectiveness of corrective actions.
Job Requirements
Commitment to environmental sustainability and regulatory compliance.A 4-year degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET / EAC accredited university.Minimum 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.Experience in leading various types of projects and directing resources.Proficiency in root cause analysis and implementing countermeasures.Strong computer skills, including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.3-7 years in an industrial environment with an engineering and maintenance focus.Physical Demands
The role requires regular communication, frequent walking, sitting, and handling objects. Occasionally, you may need to lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required.
Work Environment
This position is in an industrial setting with exposure to moving mechanical parts, varying temperatures, loud noise, and heavy activity.
