Director of Operations
- Start-up furniture manufacturer recently opened an operation in the Chicago suburbs and is searching for a Director of Operations to oversee operations, distribution and the sales departments
- This facility assembles and distributes furniture and related products to retailers throughout the Midwest
- Must have experience working in a furniture, cabinets, or very similar distribution / manufacturing environments.

- Salary range is based on experience and education and ranges from 100K 120K
Responsibilities :
- This position will manage 2 direct reports (Sales Manager & Warehouse Manager) with 20+ indirect reports
- Build a high-performance sales team that will focus on selling to wholesalers throughout the Midwest
- New business development, seek out new business and look at creative ways to expand the market
- Oversee the operations team and look for ways to improve processes
- Ensure productivity, facility safety, sales and distribution activities while working in conjunction with the owners
- Establish a culture of engagement by hands-on coaching, directing and leading employees
Requirements :
- BA / BS / AAS degree is preferred, ideally in Operations Management, Business Management or similar
- 4+ years of leadership experience overseeing an operations and or sales department
- Must have experience working in a furniture, cabinets, or very similar environment
- Able to train, develop and manage a team of employees
- Experience using ERP, WMS, TMS and or MS office systems; any implementation experience is preferred
- Great at problem-solving, multi-tasking and creative a positive culture with teamwork and development
- Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment on an off shift
- Bi-lingual English / Chinese Mandarin is preferred
