Overview
Join our dynamic IT team as a Geneva SME / Vendor System Administrator , where you'll manage and optimize mission-critical financial applications. Location : Stamford, CT or Midtown NYC (Hybrid Role)
Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and maintain the Geneva application and related vendor systems.
- Execute system upgrades, patches, and security updates to maintain production stability.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with vendors for advanced support.
- Implement and manage user roles, permissions, and security protocols.
- Establish and maintain backup strategies to ensure data integrity and recovery readiness.
- Maintain clear documentation of configurations, changes, and procedures.
- Maintain a directory of key vendor contacts and escalation paths.
- Monitor vendor performance against SLAs and report compliance or deviations.
- Coordinate changes (patches, upgrades, configuration changes) with vendor teams and internal change management.
- Participate in post-incident reviews and root cause analysis to drive improvements.
- Stay informed about vendor product roadmaps, feature updates, and deprecations.
- Monitor broker file transfers and resolve delays.
- Perform basic OS monitoring (space, CPU, memory) and database monitoring (space, query delays, indexes, reorg).
- Monitor scheduled jobs and batch processes; identify and resolve failures or delays.
- Handle basic user access requests and permission changes per defined procedures.
- Geneva SME (Subject Matter Expert) experience with SS&C Advent Geneva or similar financial platforms.
- Terraform scripting for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate deployments.
- Linux administration with strong knowledge of Linux-based environments.
- AWS knowledge – managing cloud-based infrastructure and services.
- SQL Server administration and query optimization.
- Experience implementing security patches, backups, and disaster recovery plans
- Excellent vendor management, coordination, and communication skills.
- 5+ years of experience in financial applications or vendor system administration.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive and detail-oriented mindset.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid vendor / enterprise environment.
- Exceptional documentation and collaboration abilities.
- Work with a leading financial application platform (Geneva by SS&C Advent).
