A medical practice in Fairfax is looking to add a treatment / patient care coordinator to their team. This office is a small family-run organization that has been in business for over a decade and provides a good work life balance. This person will will serve as a point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service, managing issuance coordination appointments, and assisting with administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the practice.
Key Responsibilities :
Insurance Verification and Authorization :
- Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for medical procedures or services.
- Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits and financial responsibilities.
Patient Advocacy :
Advocate for patients' needs and concerns, ensuring their voices are heard and respected throughout the healthcare journey.Collaborate with healthcare providers to address patient questions, issues, and requests promptly.Coordination of Care :
Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, consultations, and follow-up visits.Facilitate communication between healthcare providers, specialists, and other relevant staff to ensure comprehensive and integrated care.Patient Education :
Provide patients with information about their diagnoses, treatment plans, and available resources.Educate patients on self-care practices and empower them to actively participate in their healthcare.Administrative Support :
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.Handle administrative tasks, such as billing inquiries, medical records requests, and documentation.Communication and Collaboration :
Foster effective communication and collaboration among healthcare team members to optimize patient care.Serve as a point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and providing information in a clear and empathetic manner.Quality Improvement :
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of patient care processes.Provide feedback on areas for improvement and contribute to the development of best practices.Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in healthcare administration is a plus.Experience being a liaison with insurance companies and patientsPrevious experience as a patient care coordinator or in a similar role is preferred.Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.Excellent communication skills, both in person and over the phone.
