Material Coordinator

Job Title : Material Coordinator Location : Calera, Alabama Type : 2 year Contract Compensation : $25.00 hourly Contractor Work Model : On-site Hours : Monday-Thursday, 6 : 30am-5pm. Candidates must be willing to work on-site 4 days a week. System One is currently seeking a Material Coordinator on a 2 year contract position located in Calera, AL. Material Coordinator Responsibilities : Responsible for ordering materials based on design prints, coordinating deliveries to the field to meet construction schedules, and maintaining accurate, detailed records. Supports is primarily power delivery Distribution and make-ready work for overhead fiber. Report to an office environment at the General Services Complex in Calera, AL full-time, and will occasionally be asked to visit material yards in various parts of the state to review material levels. Review engineering prints and documents to determine material needs, requisition the appropriate material, ensure timely delivery to the site, and maintain accurate records. Inventory, material orders, and project data will be tracked in spreadsheets, in Maximo, and on other computer systems. Frequent communication with suppliers and the field by email and phone will be required. Redline field changes as needed and reflect changes in all appropriate records. Material Coordinator Requirements : A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook for documentation and communication is required. Sufficient computer skills to become proficient in Maximo and internal applications (TEAMS, JETS, etc.) Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Able to effectively communicate by email and phone across departments Comfortable working in a dynamic environment to adjust to changing project schedules and requirements Prior experience in utility field work (electrical overhead distribution) or storeroom logistics is a plus.
