Passaic County Community College is seeking a full-time faculty member for the Nurse Education program. This is a full-time, tenure track position for a qualified faculty member to teach Pediatrics and / or Maternity nursing in an ADN nursing program. The Nurse Education Program is located on the Passaic campus. Faculty in the Department of Nurse Education report directly to the Associate Dean of Nurse Education.
Examples of Duties :
- Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Nurse Education Program
- Select, supervise, and evaluate student learning experiences
- Lecture on courses and instruct students in the clinical area that are within specialty
- Provide students with consistent and effective support and guidance for retention and success
- Assist with the development of course materials
- Serve on policy making committees of the institution and the Nurse Education Program
- Communicate and interpret the objectives for student clinical practice to nursing service personnel
- Participate in the selection of faculty and staff within the Nurse Education Program
- Maintain up-to-date professional competence by participating in on-going clinical practice, continuing education, and professional conferences
- Participate in college and community related activities
- Assist in the orientation of new faculty
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Associate Dean
Qualifications :
A Master's degree in nursing is required, Doctorate preferredRN license or eligible – State of New JerseyQualified to teach Pediatrics and / or Maternity nursingCertified in area of specialty desirableThree years' experience in clinical nursing practice within the specialty appropriate to appointed positionCollaborates with colleagues and personnel in clinical agenciesCurrent knowledge of associate degree nursing and teaching methodologies preferredPrevious experience in an urban community college settingThe completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
Compensation : Salary is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The starting salary for this position is $63,000.
