The Impact Youll Make in this Role

The person hired for the position of Pilot Plant Technician will be responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining a variety of pilot plant equipment.

As a Pilot Plant Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

Here, you will work with :

• Microreplication
• Extrusion
• Coating
• Compounding
• Sealing
• Laminating
• Converting
• Providing support to conduct experimental runs while maintaining a safe working environment

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications :

• High school diploma / GED or higher from (completed and verified prior to start)
• Two (2) years experience within a manufacturing or pilot plant within a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include :

• Associates / Two Year Technical degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to complete work with little supervision and work well in a team environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Open and positive attitude that can interact well with customers
• Flexible to handle change within the workforce
• Solvent or water-based coating experience
• Extrusion experience
