Cook - Food Service Specialist

This position offers :
- $16.00 per hour.
- Full-Time (40 hours per week) hours - Sunday to Thursday - 10 AM to 6 PM.

As a Cook - Food Service Specialist , you are responsible for food service tasks and cooking at a mental health residential program for up to 20 individuals. You will :
- Plan monthly breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, order food and supplies, and monitor and prepare healthy, balanced meals.
- Communicate with staff regarding resident dietary needs / issues which may include preparing special / modified diets.
- Operate the kitchen and dining area including setup, cleaning and maintenance.
- Monitor budgets and compliance with all Department of Health food safety regulations.
- Be willing to learn and model the five principles of trauma informed care; safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness, and empowerment.

Qualifications :
- Experience as a food services specialist, food services worker, or cook; or in food preparation operation; or any equivalent combination of experience and / or training.
- ServSafe Certification Preferred.
- Experience using an online grocery shopping / ordering system.
- Experience working in a food services environment regulated by Department of Health.
- Able to work flexible hours to meet individual's and program's needs.
- Ability to obtain clearances as defined by regulations.
