EPIC charting experience preferred
Description :
This is a 20-bed unit providing intensive care to adult patients who have suffered traumatic brain injuries, strokes, epilepsy, and other head traumas.
Patients do not go to recovery rooms post-operation; they return to the unit for recovery.
RNs should be prepared to care for up to five Med Surg patients.
External ventricular drains (EVDs) will be placed at the bedside.
EEG leads may be implanted in patients to detect seizures, and these patients can remain on the unit for up to three weeks.
Travelers must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs.
RNs are required to work four weekend shifts out of eight possible in a four-week period.
Weekend shifts will be scheduled Friday night and Saturday night, and Saturday and Sunday.
Travelers must work two-thirds of major holidays.
This facility is 100% nicotine-free, and compliance with this policy is required.
Mandatory scrubs are required for RNs, which will feature the facility logo.
Travelers will benefit from the support of an interdisciplinary team that includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
The demographic focus includes adults and geriatrics, with a majority of patients presenting with a daily census of 18.
This unit is tasked with caring for patients with diagnoses including subarachnoid hemorrhage, ischemic strokes, hemorrhagic strokes, brain tumors, epilepsy, seizures, and brain trauma.
Continuous professional development and collaboration with various care teams are essential components of this role.
