JOB DESCRIPTION
The Ideal Program Director is responsible for managing, maintaining and developing the program department at the local Equinox Counseling and Wellness Center.
They are an integral member of the center leadership team working in coordination with the Center Administrator, Clinical Director and senior leadership to ensure seamless program delivery that drives measurable client outcomes.
Programmatic oversight includes the Intensive Treatment Program (ITP) and the Young Adult Development Program in the local center.
Job Responsibilities :
Team Leadership :
- Provide on-site leadership and guidance through direct observation, on the floor training, and weekly supervision of all Therapeutic Care Specialists (TCS).
- Implement TCS competencies and developmental goals. Report results to the leadership team. Ensure all departmental staff are aware of the competencies and goals and work in unison to achieve them.
- Manage department staffing, including recruiting, on boarding, and training new team members.
- Develop and train team members to promote opportunities for them to perform with high levels of creativity, contribution, initiative, and pride in the work they do each day at Equinox.
- Work in close coordination with members of the Center Leadership Team and System of Care Officer
- Actively participate in Leadership Meetings, Quarterly Leadership Reviews, and yearly strategic planning sessions.
Program Oversight :
- Ensure adherence and oversight of systems that support the safety of all staff members and clients engaging in in-office and community-based program services.
- Collaborate with Admissions Department and Clinical Director in developing and implementing transition programming for clients coming from Wilderness Therapy or Residential Treatment programs.
- Ensure that all aspects of milieu programming and structure are being executed according to organizational philosophies, plans, and goals (i.
e., nutrition, fitness, academic, vocational, treatment, and social competencies).
- Provide oversight and accountability for relevant and therapeutic activity planning and implementation of milieu, TCS, and community-based group services.
- Serve as a skilled expert in Equinox system of care through tight partnership with senior leadership.
- Manage administrative and program processes that ensures the highest standards of customer service and parent connectivity, resulting in client retention and successful program completion.
- Understand and manage milieu staff / client ratios, client census, and TCS schedules to appropriately collaborate with HR on staffing needs.
- Work in close collaboration with Clinical Director to oversee the execution of the thorough integration of Clinical and Program Department services.
- Engage in milieu programming, group facilitation, assessments, TCS sessions, and other programming based on needs and opportunities for training, supervision, and support of client care.
- Provide weekend or evening coverage as needed when there are staffing issues. This will be done in coordination with other leadership members.
- Work in coordination with System of Care Officer to ensure seamless communication and oversight of Experiential and Adventure Programming Coordinator with the goal of thorough integration of wilderness, experiential, and adventure-based programming into ITP and YADP services.
- Partner with CCO and COO to maintain and implement ongoing policies and procedures updates.
- Work with the Executive Leadership Team to maintain best programmatic practices.
Administrative :
- Oversee and implement TCS accountability to vacation / sick time, and shift coverage.
- Ensure TCS staff are following through on all scheduled client contacts, providing high standards of clinical care, and efficiently using their time and documenting services provided within expected timelines.
- Evaluate team needs for administrative oversight in milieu programming or TCS sessions.
- Lead Program Department meetings.
- Participate in weekly center leadership meetings, bringing agenda items representing program needs and concerns.Contribute agenda items identified by program team members to all team meetings.
- Demonstrate fiscal responsibility in managing programmatic budget line items. Report monthly budget to actual numbers to senior leadership, along with any plans to resolve issues.
- Responsible for the overall local program department budget.
- Perform emergency on call responsibilities based on rotation with other leadership and / or clinical team members.
- Responsible for ensuring incident reports are filled out and turned into the Center Administrator when an incident occurs in the milieu or community-based programming based on Policy and Procedure.
- Accountable for program cleanliness, ensuring work orders are submitted to the Center Administrator and overall center needs are communicated in a timely manner.
- Participate in ongoing clinical and organizational training opportunities offered both within and outside of Equinox.
- Participate as needed in treatment / containment meetings or staffing’s. Help program staff prepare relevant information for meetings.
- Act as a liaison in representing Equinox Counseling and Wellness Center to all internal and external stakeholders and community partners.
- Participate in individual supervision on behalf of professional development and on-going performance objectives.Ensure adherence to all risk management protocols and procedures.
- Maintain industry standards, HIPAA compliance, and board regulations for all clinical programming.
Job Requirements :
- Masters Required
- Licensure as an LPC, MFT, LMFT, LCSW, or PsyD preferred.
- Experience with program management and oversight in the mental health field.
- Track record of 5+ years of successful program leadership with proven organizational results

Job Type : Full-time
Base Pay : $70,000-$90,000
