JOB SUMMARY
The Medical Director for the Crisis Program is responsible for the oversight and provisions of all services at the Crisis Care Center.
In addition to the part-time administrative responsibilities, the psychiatrist will be expected to have a combination of responsibilities that include supervision of the mobile crisis team, education for students, residents, or fellows as applicable, and providing direct clinical services.
Prinicpals and Responsibilities :
- Supervises all clinical activities for the 24 / 7 Crisis Program.
- Provides clinical leadership and supervision of all medical / clinical aspects of service delivery.
- Ensures psychiatric assessments and follow-ups are completed.
- Provides direct psychiatric services.
- Consults with primary healthcare providers on the clinical aspects of the individuals being served and the implications for those individual's physical healthcare needs.
Required Qualifications :
- Doctorate of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited university.
- Completion of a psychiatric residency at an accredited program.
- Board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Additional Board Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and / or Addiction
Psychiatry is preferred.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE :
- Three (3) years of full-time paid professional experience working in a human service, social service, mental health or behavioral health setting.
- One (1) year of full-time paid professional experience as an executive, administrator, manager or supervisor in a human service, social service, mental health or behavioral health setting.
REQUIRED LICENSE(S).
- A valid and current Michigan License to practice as a physician.
- A valid and current Michigan controlled substance license.
- Valid and current Drug Enforcement Agency Registration.
- A valid State of Michigan Driver's License with a safe and acceptable driving record.
