We are currently seeking an entry-level Traffic Engineer to join our growing Transportation Practice in the Austin, TX. Our traffic team offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects such as adaptive signal systems, innovative intersections, and interchanges, TSMO / ATMS, managed lanes, and complete street projects that improve mobility for all transportation modes.
Responsibilities
- Our Traffic Department works on high-profile and complex projects for state and local agencies in Texas and throughout North America. Our traffic work is challenging, interesting, and in many cases, on the leading edge of traffic engineering applications in the industry.
- Our entry level traffic engineers gain valuable experience working on a wide range of projects from small-scale intersection improvements to complex interchange and corridor projects. Specific assignments would include traffic operations modeling, simulations, capacity analysis, safety studies, transportation planning studies, CAV studies, travel demand modeling and forecasting, and design of traffic control devices including signals, signing, pavement markings, ITS devices and lighting.
- Position may include working at client site(s) and infrequent travel.
Qualifications
Bachelor in Science degree from an ABET accredited programEIT certification preferred0-5 years of progressive experience in traffic and / or ITS engineeringFamiliarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual and Highway Safety ManualFamiliarity working with MicroStation and / or AutoCADExposure to, or experience, with any of the following :HCS, Synchro / SimTraffic
TransModeler, VISSIM, and / or VISUMDesign of traffic control devices (traffic signals, signing, pavement markings, lighting), and work zone traffic controlITS and CAV projectsExceptional communication, technical writing, presentation, and organizational skillsAbility to effectively communicate orally / written at all levels of the organizationAbility to work independently and as part of a teamKnowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)Positive attitude and willingness to work independently and cooperatively with othersAbility to handle multiple projects and manage time accordinglyExperience working with TXDOT a plusRequired Submissions
