Job Description

About Mass Audubon

Mass Audubon is the largest nature-based conservation organization in New England. Founded in 1896 by two women who fought for the protection of birds, Mass Audubon carries on their legacy by focusing on the greatest challenges facing the environment today : the loss of biodiversity, inequitable access to nature, and climate change. With the help of our 160,000 members and supporters, we protect wildlife, conserve and restore resilient land, advocate for impactful environmental policies, offer nationally recognized education programs for adults and children, and provide endless opportunities to experience the outdoors at our wildlife sanctuaries. Explore, find inspiration, and take action at massaudubon.org.

About This Position

Mass Audubon seeks a dynamic and experienced Education Manager to lead and grow nature-based education across multiple nature centers within a geographic region. The Education Manager oversees a diverse portfolio of programs for PK-12 schools, youth, families, and adult learners, while also providing leadership and management support for summer camps and nature preschools at the centers under their oversight.

Using a community engagement approach that prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion, the Education Manager builds and supports a high-performing regional education team that delivers programs aligned with Mass Audubon’s mission and is responsive to community needs. This role is responsible for program design, implementation, evaluation, marketing, staff and budget management, and plays a key role in fundraising, grant development, and donor relations.

The Education Manager also collaborates closely with site directors to ensure smooth coordination between sanctuary operations and education programs, strengthening the integration of conservation, visitor services, and education.

As part of the Statewide Education Leadership Team, the Education Manager contributes to strategic planning, aligns regional programming, including camps and preschool, with statewide outcomes, and participates in committees focused on education, evaluation, fundraising, registration, marketing, and communications.

Internal candidates will be strongly considered for this role.

Application Instructions

Please submit a resume and cover letter with your ADP application.
