Job description

About the Team

VIZIO's legal team is seeking an experienced and motivated licensed attorney with experience in app and / or content licensing transactions to join our growing Platform+ Legal team. As Counsel, you will report to VIZIO's Director, Content Licensing and Media Transactions Counsel and work closely with other attorneys supporting VIZIO's Platform+ business. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team within a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of agreements, focusing on app and content licensing, and advise on deals with content providers, media / entertainment companies, and streaming services.
  • Evaluate and advise on legal and business issues with a practical, business-oriented approach, handling complex legal matters in a fast-paced, evolving technology environment.
  • Support strategic initiatives, including technology and regulatory support.

About You

  • You have a passion or curiosity for digital media and technology.
  • 5-7+ years of transactional experience as an attorney, in-house or at a law firm.
  • Juris Doctor from a U.S. accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in California or eligible to register as California in-house counsel.
  • Experience with AVOD / SVOD / TVOD licensing deals.
  • Able to handle multiple matters simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong background in negotiating, drafting, and advising on agreements.
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, detail-oriented, curious, with a positive attitude.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced, small team environment and contributing positively to the legal department.

    For California-based employment : The salary range is $177,000 to $209,000 annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
