Job description

Account Manager - Industrial Sales

Account Manager - Industrial Sales is responsible for managing and expanding relationships with existing clients, as well as identifying and cultivating new business opportunities within the industrial and manufacturing sectors specifically in industrial controls and automotive components. This role involves understanding client needs, providing customized solutions, and achieving sales targets by delivering the right products and services. This position is working from home in Chicago, Illinois and traveling to client sites (50% plus) with a multi-state territory (Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois).

Client Relationship Management : (80%)

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
  • Serve as the main point of contact, addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular meetings and follow-ups to ensure client satisfaction.

Business Development : (20%)

  • Identify potential clients within the industrial sector.
  • Generate new leads and convert them into long-term customers.
  • Attend industry events and network to grow the client base.
  • Sales Strategy & Target Achievement :

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Understand market trends and competitor activities to position products effectively.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients to close deals.
  • Technical Knowledge & Product Expertise :

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of industrial products and solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams to ensure the right products / services are proposed.
  • Provide product training and demonstrations to clients when necessary.
  • Reporting & Forecasting :

  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, client interactions, and opportunities in CRM.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to management.
  • Monitor and report on market conditions and trends affecting the business.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration :

  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies.
  • Collaborate with logistics and customer service teams to ensure smooth order processing and delivery.
  • Liaise with finance teams to manage invoicing and payment issues.
  • Qualifications & Skills :

  • Education : Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory based on experience).
  • Experience : 3-5+ years of proven sales experience in industrial sales or a related sector.
  • Skills :

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to understand and explain technical products to non-technical customers.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and MS Office Suite.
  • Additional Requirements :

  • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
  • Valid driver's license.
