JOB DESCRIPTION

The maintenance mechanic works with various departments throughout the manufacturing environment to maintain, plan, and provide mechanical equipment maintenance to reduce delays, costs, and breakdowns.

Supervisor Responsibilities

This position has no direct reports.

Overall Responsibilities

Duties are simple and repetitive. Applies and develops basic support or paraprofessional skills in procedures appropriate for the position within the assigned functional area.

Works under immediate supervision and from detailed verbal and / or written instructions.

Knowledge, Education and Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or four years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Fabrication and layout of special projects may be necessary in this role.

Mental and Physical Requirements

Must be reliable with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, sub-ordinates and management staff.

Ability to gather and record necessary information, follow through with assigned tasks, identify problem areas, and take corrective action within a timely manner.

Must be able to meet deadlines and work well under high pressure situations.

• This position performs in a warehouse and factory environment. It is subject to hot and cold temperatures; wet and or humid conditions;
• loud noises; moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles;

risk of electrical shock and vibration.

This position may require working outside of normal business hours. Tolerance for repetitive work in a fast paced, high productive work environment.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and regularly lift and / or move up to 75 pounds.

Ability to differentiate colors and shades of colors. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision and depth perception.
