We are looking for a Head of North America (NA) EHS Governance & Services to join our Agricultural Solutions team based in Research Triangle Park, NC.

As the Head of North America EHS Governance & Services, you will provide leadership in health, safety, and environmental internal and external regulations to ensure a safe working environment and license to operate for all of our Agricultural Solutions business in North America. You will create, drive, coordinate, and support EHS programs, management systems, and related EHS sustainability efforts within the entire Agricultural Solutions organization in North America. Additionally, you will lead a team of EHS professionals located throughout North America to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of BASF’s and Agricultural Solutions’ EHS programs and initiatives, ensuring compliance with legal and BASF / Agricultural Solutions internal requirements at all Agricultural Solutions sites and for all employees in North America.

Leading development and continuous improvement of the NA Agriculture Solutions EHS culture for the entire Agricultural Solutions organization in North America, i.e. with an aligned and common mindset throughout the organization. You will develop and implement regional programs to foster this culture and encourage ongoing improvements

Leading the regional NA Agricultural Solutions EHS team, which includes operational leadership, resource planning, knowledge management, and the development of employees and the organization.

Supporting and guiding regional Agriculture Solutions management on all EHS-related topics.

Steering the underlying EHS management System, including the development, implementation and continuous improvement of EHS governance and services.

Functionally leading all site specific EHS resources with Agricultural Solutions in North America to ensure alignment and effectiveness.

Identifying and exchanging best practices within the NA Agricultural Solutions EHS community and developing and reporting on EHS KPIs to drive improvement

Ensuring compliance with Responsible Care, local legal standards and EHS-related internal standards at Agricultural Solutions sites, contract manufacturers, suppliers and warehouses in the NA region

If you...

Hold a BS or preferably a MS degree in Engineering, any natural science, or any related EHS discipline.

Have over 10 years of leadership experience and people management skills to develop and deploy talent, with experience in helping individuals manage change effectively and adopt new ways of working

Possess professional experience either in EHS or in areas that have a strong EHS component (such as e.g., manufacturing), with a history of driving (organizational) change to improve (EHS) culture (over 10 years, preferred).

Know how to develop practical plans to implement EHS policies, procedures and Responsible Care for sites of various natures (chemical plants, farms, labs), large and small

Possess professional EHS experience and are familiar with US and Canadian EHS regulations

Are able to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally
