Plant Vehicle Team Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineer with a strong background in Electrical Engineering and Body Interior Systems . This role is based at the Chicago Assembly Plant and focuses on improving vehicle quality for the Ford Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, and Police Interceptor models. The ideal candidate will have experience working at the systems engineering level , particularly with Body Interior components that integrate electronic modules or switches (e.g., seats, restraints, door trim, IP cockpit).

Responsibilities

• Analyze warranty claims and customer feedback to identify quality issues.
• Conduct root cause analysis on returned parts and develop corrective actions.
• Support plant operations with Stop Ships, Stop Builds, audits, and campaigns.
• Lead engineering changes for minor product launches and cost reduction initiatives.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality concerns.
• Manage engineering trials and implement running changes.
• Issue alerts and initiate product changes to meet quality objectives.
• Maintain subsystem and Vehicle Functional Group (VFG) quality documentation.
• Present findings and updates to upper management and engineering leadership.
