Description :
This is a 225-bed specialty care hospital.
The facility offers various services including heart and vascular care, cancer treatment, brain and spine care, rehabilitation, behavioral health, digestive health, bariatric medicine, weight management, women's health, and pediatrics.
It is located in the central region of Michigan's upper peninsula.
The hospital is known for its imaging, surgery, and laboratory services.
The ICU unit has a trauma level designation of 2.
The position involves working in a Level 2 ICU with an open-heart program, cath lab, neuro surgery, and CRRT programs.
The unit has 24 beds with patient ratios of 1 : 2 for ICU patients and 1 : 3 for IMCU patients.
Equipment used includes Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, Prisma Flex CRRT, Impella, IABP, EVDs, bolt monitoring, vents, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen.
The electronic health record system used is Cerner.
Patients in this ICU will often present with conditions such as post-open heart surgery, heart failure, respiratory failure, trauma, surgical needs, strokes post-lytic treatment, post-cranial surgery, and septic shock.
Floating to other units may be required on a rotational basis.
The ideal candidate will be a positive team player.
The required education for this position is an Associate's Degree in Nursing.
Dress code includes scrubs in galaxy, royal, or navy blue, while hoodies and open-toed shoes are unacceptable attire.
