About The Position
Job Title : CT TechnologistJob Specialty : Clinical - AlliedJob Duration : PermanentShift : Night, Monday to Thursday, 6 : 00 PM - 4 : 30 AMGuaranteed Hours : 40.00Experience : Minimum of 1-2 years requiredLicense : ARRT (CT) requiredCertifications : BLS (AHA or ARC) requiredMust-Have : High volume ED and IP, Trauma and stroke experienceJob Description : - Perform CT procedures following departmental protocols and standards.- Operate CT scanners and associated equipment with proficiency, including post-processing stations, IV contrast injectors, and patient monitoring equipment.- Examine requests and verify orders on each assigned patient, referring questions to the Radiologist as needed.- Identify and assist patients using two patient identifiers, providing a brief explanation of the procedures.- Prepare patients for procedures, explain and document preparation on appropriate worksheets.- Interview patients to complete medical history, reviewing EMRs to obtain pertinent clinical history.- Record medical history on requisitions and correlate with other test results and laboratory data.- Manage responsibility from the beginning of the exam until the completion of results.- Prepare and administer IV contrast according to departmental protocols, and record contrast type and amount upon request.- Evaluate the technical quality of images, consulting with a Radiologist if needed.- Recognize abnormal anatomy and process additional reconstructed images or measurements as required.- Inform appropriate nursing personnel of any changes in a patient’s condition and initiate life support measures when necessary.- Perform CT scanning and assist Radiologists / PAs during invasive procedures.- Maintain sterile techniques in preparation for necessary supplies and follow protocols for invasive procedures.- Practice radiation safety principles for self, employees, patients, and family members.- Report malfunctioning equipment to department managers and engineering teams.- Operate radiology computer systems for entering orders and charging procedures.- Document contrast administration in medical reports and maintain a neat and orderly work area.- Assist other medical personnel, such as anesthesia, during exams or services in conjunction with CT scans.- Follow physical requirements, including moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients and equipment, standing and walking during normal operations.Atrium Health offers a comprehensive, market-competitive Total Rewards package, including compensation and benefits to meet personal and family needs.
