Patient Care Technician
The Patient Care Technician on the G12E Palliative unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse, and directly impacts patient comfort and outcome of care. The G12E Palliative unit is an 18-bed unit within the medical oncology cohort. Expert palliative care is provided to patients with recurrent and / or advanced cancer with complex physical, psychological, or spiritual concerns. Although the patients seen in the unit are in varying stages of their illness, all seek restoration to maximum symptom control, function, and comfort. The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma and preferably a CNA certification. The shift will be a combination of 2 twelve and 2 eight hour shifts Monday - Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays. Day / Evening : 7AM - 7PM, 7AM - 3PM, 3PM - 11PM OR Evening / Night : 7PM - 7AM, 11PM - 7AM, 3PM - 11PM Hourly breakdown of salary range : Minimum $18.27 - Midpoint $22.84 - Maximum $27.40

Requirements
Education Required : High school diploma or equivalent. Experience Preferred : One year of patient care experience in an acute care setting. License / Certification Preferred : Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening. The ability to satisfy and maintain all requirements necessary to ensure the continued security and integrity of such infrastructure is a condition of hire and continued employment. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
