Patient Care Technician - Gynecologic / Radiation Unit

The Patient Care Technician position on G10East Gynecologic / Radiation Unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse, and directly impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.

Ideal candidate must have a high school diploma and either one year of recent experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant or a CNA certification. The schedule will be three 12 hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays. This unit has nightshift and dayshift available, 7pm-7am or 7am-7pm.

The Inpatient G10E Gynecologic / Radiation unit is a 25-bed unit within the surgical cohort. Treats and provides care for all types of surgical and radiation oncology inpatient, primary population is delivered to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Treatment modalities include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery and medical management.

Hourly breakdown of salary range :

Minimum $16.59 - Midpoint $20.72 - Maximum $24.76

Essential Job Functions :

Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs. Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit / discharge and obtaining vital signs. Updates and retrieves patient information. Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Acts as part of an assigned care team.
