Overview
Construction Engineering Manager - Wastewater Treatment Plant - Arizona. Based in Tempe, AZ. Aplin has partnered with an award-winning construction company to recruit a Construction Engineering Manager to complement their growing operations in Arizona, USA. The primary focus is on delivering high-level project engineering and management support for water infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Organizing and hosting Engineering Kickoff meetings with the project team.
- Providing assessment reports post Kickoff meeting.
- Performing routine inspections and reviews of the project's engineering progress, including spot checking submittal review accuracy, progress, and approval performance.
- Ensuring adherence to engineering SOPs and maintaining records for the project.
- Reviewing and working with the project team on submittals deemed higher risk.
- Being an on-call resource for any project on Construction / Project Engineering questions and issues.
- Developing standardized District Project Engineering SOPs and collaborating with the Project Systems Champion to incorporate these SOPs into PM4, Autodesk Cloud and future company systems.
- Aiding on project pursuits as needed, including project background research, understanding development, and proposal-level schedules in collaboration with the CED Scheduling Manager.
- Working with the Estimating department during preconstruction (design review / VE, contract writing and procurement on long lead items and other PE / PM level items).
- Working with and managing the newest CED Engineers, providing training and oversight on work assigned to them.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related field.5–8 years of progressive construction experience with leadership and mentoring preferred.Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture by applying health, safety, and environment principles and legislation.In-depth knowledge of construction industry including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, construction law and building codes, and safety and quality management practices.Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills including the ability to manage project budgets and schedules.Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, project management and scheduling software, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.The client offers competitive salary and benefits including bonus, employee shares and relocation assistance.About the company / EEO
