Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager with a strong background in data center construction to lead day to day site operations, supplier and subcontractor management, and program delivery in the Arlington, VA area. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a closely related field and has demonstrable hands on experience managing construction and commissioning activities for mission critical facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on site operations for new build and retrofit data center projects, ensuring schedule, quality, safety and budget targets are met.
• Coordinate daily activities of construction teams, engineering leads, commissioning agents, MEP contractors and vendors.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, scopes of work, contract administration, change control and performance tracking.
• Implement and enforce safety, quality assurance (QA / QC) and environmental controls consistent with client and industry standards.
• Track schedule and budget performance; prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, risk registers and recovery plans.
• Chair coordination meetings (daily / weekly) with cross functional stakeholders and escalate issues to senior management as needed.
• Support commissioning and handover activities, including punch list completion, O&M documentation, asset tagging and warranty handover.
• Maintain detailed site diaries, RFIs, submittals, as built markups and project documentation in the project management system.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase constructability, reduce rework and optimize schedule / budget outcomes.
• Manage client, authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) and utility interface to facilitate permits, inspections and energization.
