Compensation : $85,000 – $150,000 (salaried)

We are currently seeking a Municipal Engineer for one of our municipal and infrastructure clients in Mount Holly, New Jersey. This individual will play a key role in the design, planning, and oversight of public infrastructure projects that improve community functionality and sustainability.
Job Overview
The Municipal Engineer will lead and support the planning, design, and construction of municipal infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, water systems, and other public works. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholders—including contractors, engineers, and public agencies—to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
Job Responsibilities
Develop and implement engineering plans for municipal infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, stormwater, and water systems)
Perform detailed design calculations and prepare plans, specifications, and technical reports
Oversee and inspect construction projects to ensure compliance with design standards, quality, and safety requirements
Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and municipal agencies to achieve project milestones and objectives
Prepare cost estimates, bid documents, and contracts for construction projects
Review shop drawings, change orders, and progress reports
Maintain accurate documentation for all assigned projects
Provide technical support and consultation to municipal staff, contractors, and community stakeholders
Participate in project meetings, public hearings, and client presentations
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal design standards and environmental regulations
Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field
EIT or New Jersey Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Minimum of 4 years of experience in the design and construction of municipal infrastructure projects
Strong technical proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, and engineering design software
Experience working with local and state government agencies
Excellent project management, communication, and coordination skills
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Strong understanding of design codes, regulations, and project documentation standards
