Electrician

Position Summary : The incumbent must possess basic knowledge of tools and mechanical equipment used in electrical applications in support of maintaining building HVAC-R systems and demonstrate proficiency in the safe use of hand and power tools required to perform work tasks.

Key responsibilities include :

• Respond to daily electrical and HVAC-related service requests (work orders) in a timely and professional manner.
• Plan, lay out, and troubleshoot problems related to building electrical systems and HVAC-related equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems and components associated with HVAC-R equipment, including motors, contactors, sensors, relays, control panels, and low-voltage control systems.
• Perform removal, installation, and maintenance of HVAC and electrical equipment as part of scheduled and emergency maintenance activities.
• Assist in campus-wide HVAC and electrical system upgrade projects as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Operate tools and mechanical equipment safely and effectively, including hand tools, power tools, meters, and testing devices.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures while working independently or as part of a team.
• Provide a high level of customer service and interact respectfully with faculty, staff, and students.
