Sterile Processing Technician (PRN), Ambulatory Surgery Center

The ASC Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment. This role ensures that all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and ready for use in surgical procedures. The ASC Sterile Processing Technician reports to the ASC Nurse Manager and works closely with operating room staff, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

Decontaminate and Clean Instruments

• Perform decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Use appropriate cleaning agents and techniques to ensure thorough cleaning.
• Follow infection control protocols to prevent contamination.

Assemble and Package Instruments

Sterilize Instruments and Equipment

Maintain Inventory and Supplies

Ensure Compliance with Safety Standards
