The HSSE Manager will be the site expert for all health, safety, security and environmental (HSSE) programs at our Mass Production Facilities-North. They will ensure compliance with Vallourec policies and standards, maintaining compliance with ISO Certification standards, and all local, state, and federal regulations. The HSSE Manager is responsible for promoting a proactive HSSE culture and driving a continuous improvement-based HSSE management system. The HSSE Manager will collaborate across different sites to align / standardize HSSE programs, and is responsible to support the development of World Best in Class programs in Leadership, Management Systems and Culture to deliver on Vallourec’s ambitions for 2030 and beyond.
Your Role at a Glance
- Serve as a business expert in health, safety, security and environmental (HSSE) programs
- Oversee all site HSSE programs and make changes to drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain records associated with HSSE regulatory compliance, standards and company management system
- Lead and supervise all investigations of HSSE related incidents
- Coach and advise business leaders regarding HSSE regulations, standards and best practices
- Maintain and publish HSSE Metrics and KPIs to measure performance and quality.
- Oversee the quality of the Safety Visit program and maintain critical quality KPIs to measure same
- Oversee the quality of the Safety Gemba Walk program and maintain critical quality KPIs to measure same
- Collaborate with outside agencies as necessary
- Compile and analyze data to provide reports to local and company management
- Supervise and deliver Risk Management and Risk Assessment practices and maintain critical KPIs to measure same.
- Participate in the review and update of policies, procedures and programs
- Collect samples and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with environmental permits
- Plan, arrange and deliver HSSE related training for managers, supervisors, employees and contractors
- Evaluate the effectiveness of HSSE policies and practices and standardize to company / industry standards.
- Lead the implementation of new Group HSSE standards and policies
- Ensure requisitions are entered for supplies and review and approve invoices for services provided
- Prepare an annual budget to deliver HSSE programs for the business / site.
- Manage waste streams and provide recommendations for minimizing waste
- Supervise all site / business HSSE staff
- Coordinate third-party site security services
- Ensure the integrity of the physical security of all business infrastructure.
- Responsible for waste tracking
- Support HSSE training and orientation programs for new hires and contractors
- Oversee site Contractor HSSE Management, including auditing.
- Travel as needed to support the business and company.
- Familiar with applicable local, state and federal HSSE regulations.
- Perform field inspection activities for regulatory compliance
What Sets You Apart

Bachelors of Science Degree in a HSSE discipline (or Industrial Engineering) required. Masters degree preferred.15 Years in HSSE experience, 5-10 Years of Supervisory ExperienceEnvironmental regulatory knowledgeExperienced with ISO 14001 and 45001, Integrated Management Systems, and associated documentation and auditsOSHA 30 Hour General Industry TrainingCertified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent desired or ability to attain within 1 yearEnvironmental regulatory knowledgeOil Field or Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) experience idealExtensive knowledge of HSSE regulations, standards and best practicesEffective and strong writing, verbal and presentation skills; ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the organization with confidence, respect and integritySkilled at leadership HSSE coaching and supportSME in Behavioral Based Safety, Root Cause or Causal Analysis Investigation programs, OSHA regulations and interpretation, RCRA, SWPPP, and SPCC programs. site and company LOTO program, Life Saving Rule Training, Coaching and EnforcementExperienced in delivery of an open HSSE reporting program, based on psychological safety and human performance principlesDrive a significant increase in proactive Near Miss and Unsafe Act or Unsafe Condition reportingExperienced with continuous improvement processes and / or ISO management systems strongly preferredStrong MS Outlook and management of on-line digital programs.Experienced in organizational, time management and attention to detail skillsWhat Powers Your Performance
