Description : Position Summary
The HR Generalist I provides essential support to the People Function across compliance, onboarding, benefits, culture, and communication. This role requires a highly detail-oriented, adaptable individual with 3–5 years of HR experience who can operate independently, maintain system accuracy, and uphold Barranco’s values in every employee interaction. This is a developmental role with a clear growth path toward HR Manager.
Key Responsibilities
HR Compliance & Systems
- Maintain employee data and records in Paylocity, ensuring system accuracy
- Monitor FLSA classification, workers’ compensation codes, and EEO / SOC accuracy
- Assist with policy implementation, handbook updates, and audit preparation
- Track compliance training, acknowledgments, and required reporting
Employee Lifecycle Management
Coordinate the full onboarding experience (offer letter, assessments, documentation, day 1, 30 / 60 / 90-day milestones)Execute offboarding processes including resignation intake, termination documents, and exit interviewsMaintain and protect confidential employee recordsBenefits & Leave Administration
Assist with benefit elections, qualifying life events, and employee support during Open EnrollmentTrack and respond to employee leave requests (PTO, sick, FMLA) in coordination with payroll and managementLiaise with benefit brokers and vendors to resolve employee inquiriesCulture & Engagement
Schedule and track stay interviews and employee check-insSupport internal recognition programs and referral initiativesAssist with People L10 meeting prep (employee risk updates, engagement insights)Draft employee communications and maintain Paylocity Community postsSpecial Projects & Documentation
Help build HR templates, SOPs, and internal resources for scaleContribute to initiatives like career pathing, fixed-term postings, and org claritySupport People metrics collection, dashboard preparation, and data storytellingRequirements :
Required Qualifications
3–5 years of HR experience in a generalist or coordinator-level roleWorking knowledge of FLSA, EEO, benefits administration, and basic employment lawStrong written communication and interpersonal skillsHigh integrity and discretion in handling confidential informationProficient in Microsoft Office and / or Google WorkspaceSelf-starter with excellent organization and task managementPreferred Qualifications
Experience with Paylocity or equivalent HRIS platformHR experience supporting hourly and field-based workersFamiliarity with Georgia employment regulations and workers’ compensationDesire to grow into a managerial HR roleSuccess in This Role Looks Like :
